Japanese calligrapher KASHUŪ
For sincerity, not success,
is how I write and live.
For the London-based Japanese calligrapher KASHUŪ, Calligraphy is her life-long practice to train and purify the mind. Her calligraphy name, KASHUŪ, means a refined bush clover, its slender yet strong stem reflecting the elegance and strength of her style.
Guided by a mission to share a mindful way of living through Japanese calligraphy, her work spans large-scale live performances, collaborations, and commissioned projects for leading global brands, cultural institutions, and government bodies. Her clients include LOUIS VUITTON, ARMANI, Mastercard, the Emmy-winning Disney+ series SHŌGUN, the Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025, and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Trained from the age of six and awarded the title of Master at 18, she still describes herself as a beginner even after 40 years of practice.
The age-old tradition is a discipline of beauty, a search towards pure form and a peace within.
